A few days ago Jake found an online casino and decided to download the craps game. Since then, he has been playing constantly. Even though Jake knows that he should stay away from the proposition bets because they are so much in favor of the house, he still feels lucky while he's playing the download craps and wants to have some fun!?He's got this gut feeling that a 12 is coming up soon so he clicks the mouse on the download craps game to indicate he wants a $1 on "Midnight". The virtual dealer at the download craps table takes his $1 chip and places it on the 12 in the middle of the table. All Jake needs now is for the shooter to throw as 12 on this next throw. What're the chances of this happening at this download craps game? Well, simple math says 36 to 1 so the chances are not good. The shooter readies up and throws the dice... Doh, it's an 8. Jake loses his $1 on the 12.
Jake is still feeling determined to hit a proposition bet so he places $4 on the "Horn" bet. This effectively increases Jake's chance to hit one of those high-paying numbers in the horn because, in essence, he is playing the 2, 3, 11, and 12. The payouts at both a download casino and a land casino are different than making a $1 bet on each number though. The bet pays 27:4 on the 2 and 12 and 3:1 on the 3 or 11. So, this time he needs a 2, 3, 11, or 12 thrown. The virtual shooter at the download craps table readies up, throws the dice, and, voila, a 12 is thrown this time and Jake wins $27 on his $4 horn be. Please note that if a 3 or 11 was thrown at the download craps table then Jake would have only won $12 for his horn bet as the 3 and 11 only pays 3 to 1.
